  2. Heather,
The problem of blurry pictures at night is probably a result of shutter speed. Your camera wants to let more light in because it is dark out, and so on an automatic setting it is going to have a slow shutter speed to allow for more light to enter into the camera. The problem with that is that when you have a slow shutter speed any small movement is going to cause blurriness in photos. So, I would suggest manually setting your shutter speed to a faster speed (although sometimes that doesn't result in good night photos either because there isn't enough light) or setting the camera on a stationary surface (such as a tripod) so that it doesn't move while the picture is being taken. On my camera there is a Tv mode and to set the desired shutter speed I have to look into the viewfinder while turning a dial (the dial is towards the front of the camera body, in front of the mode setting wheel). Be aware that if the aperature value in the viewfinder is blinking the picture will be either under or over exposed. It takes some playing with for sure.
Also, a stronger flash would be helpful. You can buy attachable flashes. If you have the book for your camera the explanation of shutter speed for your particular camera will be in there.

    GOOD LUCK!!
    Sarah
